Helping Someone Who Doesn’t Want to Be Helped

A student of mine once told me, “you can only help someone who wants to be helped.”

And though I understand the reasoning behind it, through my years of being an Empowerment Coach to women from all walks of life, I knew this wasn’t always the case.

Sometimes people are “thinking about thinking about” change; they just don’t know-how. They are operating in the lowest levels of empowerment: shame, guilt, blame.
